VoltPet

Privacy Policy

VoltPet collects nothing. There is no account to create, no server to talk to, and no analytics of any kind. The app has no networking code in it.

Your battery readings, your pet's name and its charging history never leave your device. Nobody — including the developer — can see them.

What VoltPet reads

VoltPet is a pixel-art pet whose mood comes from your battery, so it has to look at the battery. It asks iOS for three things while the app, a widget or the Live Activity is on screen:

These are used for exactly one purpose: deciding how the pet feels and how it moves. They are read, used to draw a frame, and discarded. They are never transmitted, logged to a file, or shared with anyone.

What is stored on your device

A small amount of state is saved locally so your pet is still your pet the next time you open the app. All of it lives inside VoltPet's own storage on your device.

Everything VoltPet keeps, and why.
WhatWhy it is kept
Your pet's name You choose it when you first open the app. It is text you typed — please don't put anything sensitive in it, since it appears on your Lock Screen and on any share card you create.
Species, costume and theme So the pet you picked is the pet you get back.
Your settings Appearance, Live Activity, haptics, sounds and notification preferences.
The last battery reading So a widget can draw the right pet before the app has run.
Charging history The date and battery percentage at the start and end of each charge. This is what gives the pet its streaks and lets it grow up. It is a count of charges, not a location, a schedule or a profile.
Whether you bought VoltPet Pro A yes/no flag, so widgets know which pets to offer. The App Store remains the only thing that actually grants the purchase.

The app, its widgets and its Live Activity share this state through an App Group — a private container on your device that only VoltPet can open. It is not a cloud service. Nothing is synced to iCloud.

What VoltPet never does

In App Store terms, VoltPet's privacy label is Data Not Collected.

Apple's part

VoltPet uses four Apple features. In each case Apple, not VoltPet, handles the data — and VoltPet still receives nothing about you.

The VoltPet Pro purchase

The one-time VoltPet Pro purchase is processed entirely by the App Store through StoreKit. VoltPet never sees your name, payment method, billing address or Apple Account, and stores no receipt of its own. On each launch it simply asks the App Store "is this device entitled?" and gets back yes or no. Your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Notifications

Notifications are off until you turn them on, and they are local notifications: your device schedules and shows them itself. There is no push server, and no push token is ever created or sent anywhere.

Apple Watch

If you install the watch app, your pet's name, species, costume and theme are sent from your iPhone to your own paired Apple Watch using Apple's device-to-device connection. No battery readings cross over — the watch reads its own battery. Nothing passes through a server.

The rating prompt

After a happy moment, iOS may show Apple's standard "rate this app" dialog. Apple decides whether it appears and handles anything you write. VoltPet is never told whether it was shown, or what you said.

Sharing your pet

VoltPet can draw a shareable card of your pet. That card is created on your device and goes nowhere until you tap Share and choose a destination yourself. It shows your pet's name, its mood, your battery percentage and your care streak — so it is worth a glance before you post it publicly. Once you send it, the app or service you sent it to takes over, under its own privacy policy.

Children

VoltPet is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either. There is no messaging, no user-generated content shared with anyone, and nothing to sign up for.

Deleting your data

Delete the app. Everything described above — your pet, its settings and its charging history — is removed with it, because all of it lived on your device and nowhere else. There is no account to close and no request to send.

Changes to this policy

If VoltPet ever changes what it does with data, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change. Any change that would introduce data collection would be described here plainly and in advance — and would arrive in an app update you would have to choose to install.
